Achilleas is the Project Manager of Environmental Labelling at EASA, where he leads the development and implementation of the EU Flight Emissions Label (FEL) regulation. He has 19 years of experience across different positions in aviation spanning from digital product development, corporate communications, strategic programme management and sustainable aviation policy.

Adam works to solve sustainable aviation fuel’s cost challenge. He was the chief architect of the SAF certificate (SAFc) concept, co-founded the Sustainable Aviation Buyer’s Alliance (SABA), helped pioneer the industry’s first long term SAFc contracts, and now leads an initiative to create a long-term bankable offtake system for SAF. In his current role, he oversees Sustainability for World Energy, a renewable fuel producer. Adam is also the elected Board Chair of the Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB). During his free time, he tries but fails to catch up to his two sons’ running paces.

Africa specialises in project management and advisory services for aviation decarbonisation strategies. Previously, she led the aviation business line at Vertis Environmental Finance, assisting clients with compliance under carbon schemes like EU ETS, UK ETS and CORSIA. She also worked as a policy advisor for the Spanish Civil Aviation Authority, focusing on the development and implementation of policies and regulations related to carbon emissions, and participated in European-funded biofuel projects. Africa began her career in an airline association, liaising between clients and policymakers, gaining insights into industry and regulatory frameworks.

Alastair leads the sustainable aviation team at ICF, supporting companies and governments to reduce the environmental impact from aviation. His recent projects have ranged from national decarbonisation roadmaps to project due diligence and offtake negotiations, delivered in over 17 counties. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Engineer (CEng), with a Masters in Aeronautical Engineering (MEng).

Ashraf drives the development of SITA Eco Mission – a solution that helps airlines automate emissions reporting and optimise SAF and compliance strategies. With a Mechanical Engineering degree from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Ashraf brings 15+ years of aviation experience. She began at SAS as a Flight Operations Engineer, later leading mobile solutions for pilots and crew. At Qatar Airways, she managed EFB Solutions, enhancing operational efficiency through digital innovation. At DHL Express, she focused on engineering excellence across global maintenance programs. Today at SITA, Ashraf empowers airlines to build more data-driven, compliant and sustainable operations.

Bjørn is a team leader and carbon trader at Vertis, focusing on the industry and transport sectors. Managing a team of corporate traders covering the UK, Ireland and the Nordics, Bjørn specialises in aviation, advising clients on EU ETS, UK ETS and CORSIA. His experience and direct contact with market participants throughout Europe and the United Kingdom provides him with unique and detailed knowledge of the supply and demand mechanics of the EU ETS and UK ETS, helping clients meet their obligations in the best and most cost-effective way.

Douglas leads on all the company’s carbon discussions. He joined the company in February 2025 having spent the last three years working with a variety of carbon and climate technology businesses including leading the commercial operations for Sylvera and Abatable, and co-founding an emissions data business focused on commercial real-estate retrofitting. Douglas has over 30 years’ experience scaling data and software vendors within financial markets, the support services sector and leading technology resellers. He has worked for several major corporates, such as Reuters, Dow Jones and American Express, as well as private equity and venture-backed portfolio companies.

Dr Bajzelj leads the company’s work on carbon removal and technology-based solution ratings. She is an environmental scientist with a PhD in Environmental Science and Engineering from the University of Cambridge. In recent years, Dr Bajzelj has been dedicated to advancing and safeguarding the quality of the emerging voluntary carbon removal market. Before joining BeZero Carbon, she served as VP of Climate at Supercritical, one of the leading carbon removal marketplaces, and has over 20 years of experience in climate mitigation and land-use sustainability across academia, NGOs and government.

Eric leads The Aviation Challenge at SkyTeam, driving innovation and collaboration across member airlines. With over seven years in the airline industry, he brings expertise in sustainable aviation, transformation, project management and commercial strategy. Before joining SkyTeam, Eric led several commercial and sustainability initiatives both at Scandinavian Airlines and as a consultant. Today, he focuses on enabling airlines to innovate and accelerate their sustainability transition.

Gabrielle is the Carbon Markets Research Lead within LSEG’s Carbon Team, specialising in European compliance markets and CORSIA. Her career has been in environmental markets where previous to LSEG she was an investment specialist at an environmental hedge fund within BNP Paribas Group, and prior to that, as an associate within BloombergNEF covering low carbon technology markets. She holds first-class degrees in Sustainability (MSc) and Physical Geography with Biosciences (BSc) as well as the CFA Level 1 and CFA IMC.  

Gill is responsible for the implementation and expansion of RSB’s innovative book and claim programme, which aims to expand the outreach of sustainable biomaterials and accelerate the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate sectors, such as shipping and aviation. With over two decades of experience, Gill has been actively involved in advancing the sustainable bioeconomy since completing her PhD in Environmental Engineering in London. Her journey includes diverse roles, such as a post-doctoral position focusing on bioenergy crops in Florida, waste and bioremediation researcher at a water research company in the UK, directorship of a perennial energy crop producer group, secondment to the UK Forestry Commission and, more recently, leading a team managing government incentive schemes for a company who own, operate, fuel and maintain a fleet of industrial and commercial biomass assets.

In 2010 Guido Harling started ETSverification GmbH, out of Germany, offering verification services under EU & UK ETS, CH-ETS, FR-ETS, CORSIA, ReFuelEU and NonCO2 MRV. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Dipl. Chem. Ing.) and a master of business (Dipl. Wirt. Ing.) degree. He is a accredited under ISO 9001, ISO 14065 & 17029. Guido is also a teaching professor for aviation management and sits on the board of Münster-Telgte airport.

The Geneva-based Air Transport Action Group (ATAG) is the only global grouping of players from across the aviation industry and brings together airports, airlines, air navigation service providers and aircraft and engine manufacturers to agree common goals. ATAG’s current mission is to provide a platform through which the aviation sector is working to reduce its climate change impact. ATAG works with funding members ACI, IATA, CANSO, Airbus, ATR, Boeing, CFM, GE Aviation, Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce and Safran to ensure aviation is able to respond to global decarbonisation and sustainability objectives. Previously, Haldane was Head of Communications and Advocacy at ATAG and Communications Manager with Airports Council International World headquarters where he worked on issues such as the environment, security and airport economics.

Ian is a Chartered Chemical Engineer with more than 15 years of experience as a strategic and analytical business leader. He supports the aviation sector in advancing decarbonisation goals through the use of carbon dioxide removal technologies. Ian’s background spans hydrogen, industrial gases and carbon removal, including the development of the world’s largest green hydrogen facility. At 1PointFive, he works with strategic partners across policy, regulatory, commercial and technology domains to scale deployment of Carbon Engineering’s Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology at STRATOS, the world’s largest commercial DAC facility. He is also actively engaged in shaping the greenhouse gas removals (GGR) policy landscape and contributes to the UK government’s Jet Zero Taskforce as a member of the GGR working group.

Jaclyn leads business development for CFP Energy’s Voluntary Carbon Markets team, working with airlines, corporates and investors on carbon credit strategies across CORSIA, emerging compliance regimes and the voluntary market. She structures tailored solutions, including forwards, hedges and offtake agreements, to help clients manage risk, optimise pricing and meet both regulatory and net zero goals. With experience ranging from immediate access to high-quality credits through to project development, she enables clients to integrate carbon credits confidently into their strategies. Before joining CFP, Jaclyn worked at BeZero Carbon, a leading carbon ratings agency, where she gained expertise in credit quality and market transparency.

Joel leads BeZero Carbon’s research and advocacy activities across a range of carbon market topics, spanning regulation, frameworks and market dynamics. His work focuses on applying insights from BeZero’s carbon credit ratings to compliance schemes, Article 6 and CORSIA. Before joining BeZero, Joel was Head of R&D Investment Strategy at the UK’s Department for Science, Innovation & Technology. He has also held a variety of roles as a civil servant at the Department of Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy and the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs. Joel has an undergraduate and master’s degree in chemistry from the University of Cambridge and a master’s degree in economics from Birkbeck, University of London.

Jonathan is a Managing Director in Transportation Finance at Standard Chartered Bank. He is based in London and has had an extensive career at Standard Chartered since starting with SCB in 2005, with roles in both London and Singapore. His roles involved the acquisition of the Pembroke leasing platform in 2007, structured cross-border leasing transactions, establishment of a side-car joint ventures and the Pembroke exist in 2023. Jonthan has led the sustainability strategy for Aviation, and was an original member of the working group that delivered the Pegasus Guidelines, which launched in 2024.  

In July 2015, Jonathon became Group Head of Sustainability for the International Airlines Group with responsibility for the group sustainability strategy across the Groups’ five airlines: Aer Lingus, British Airways, Iberia, Level & Vueling. In June 2024, Jonathon was appointed IAG Group Sustainability Officer. Jonathon was also Chair of the oneworld airline alliance’s Environment Strategy Board from 2020 to 2023. In December 2024, he was appointed as a member of the UK Government’s Jet Zero Taskforce Experts Group. In 2024, Jonathon was privileged to have been awarded an honorary doctorate from Cranfield University, cited for his “outstanding and sustained contribution to embedding sustainability across the aviation sector”. In 2025, Jonathon was honoured to be awarded the Air League’s President’s Meritorious Service Award cited for his “tireless dedication and commitment to sustainability and nurturing the next generation of talent”. Jonathon is a Master’s graduate in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College, London, and has an MBA from INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France.

An international expert on climate policy and carbon markets, Juan Carlos was a UNFCCC climate negotiator for Mexico for 15 years and served as Mexico’s lead negotiator for Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. In 2019 Juan Carlos was appointed by ICAO as member of the Technical Advisory Body (TAB) for CORSIA. At Abatable, Juan Carlos oversees Abatable's knowledge and policy function, providing actionable insights, data and models for all carbon market participants to help increase transparency in the industry. He leads Abatable's CORSIA supply and demand modelling, analysis and advisory services.

Kata leads the global aviation team at PA Consulting and has 20+ years of commercial aviation experience across airlines, airports, OEMs and investors. She is an expert in the linkages and tensions that characterise and shape aviation, and advises airlines, airports and their investors on strategic questions of growth, sustainability and transformation. Kata was the project director on ACI’s Long Term Carbon Goal for 2000+ global airports, has advised EASA on the development of environmental labelling and SAF tracking for EU aviation, and oversaw the development of ATAG’s Fuelling Net Zero report. Kata joined PA in June 2023 with a focus on bringing the full breadth of PA’s capabilities to the aviation ecosystem. 

Hydrogen Europe is the leading organisation representing European based companies and stakeholders that are committed to moving towards a (circular) carbon neutral economy. With more than 600 companies and national associations as members, Hydrogen Europe encompass the entire value chain of the European hydrogen, RFNBO and fuel cell ecosystem. He is also Secretary-General of Res Publica Europa, the Brussels-based think tank. Prior to joining Hydrogen Europe, Laurent was Deputy Managing Director of Airlines for Europe (A4E), where he oversaw sustainability. For over 15 years, he has worked with blue chip companies, trade associations, governments and NGOs in the fields of transport, energy and climate change. He holds a master’s degree from the London School of Economics (LSE), and a BA from the Université catholique de Louvain (UCL).

Leigh is part of IAG’s sustainability team and leads their policy work on non-CO2 as well as working on sustainable fuels and climate policy and SAF project development. Leigh is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and works on developing the group’s investments and offtakes to deliver against IAG’s Net Zero targets.

Lev is an experienced transactional lawyer with a specialisation in international climate change law and policy. He is ranked by Chambers in the ‘Climate Change – Global’ category. Philip Lee LLP has won Law Firm of the Year in the ‘VCM’ from Environmental Finance journal for three consecutive years (2023-2025). One of Lev’s sectors of focus is international aviation where he has significant experience in advising a wide range of clients on investments in both carbon and SAF. Lev spent the first half of his career as an aircraft finance lawyer and now combines that industry experience with his climate-focused practice to support the industry’s transition to net zero.

Liam leads pricing, contracting and registry-based portfolio acquisition of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) environmental attributes for corporate and airline customers. His work advances FEG’s promotion of market-based solutions to accelerate SAF adoption through spot and offtake agreements focused on book-and-claim. Prior to entering the energy transition space, Liam spent three decades in capital markets. He began his career in equity and derivatives trading and clearing, then moved into venture capital with a focus on fintech and financial services firms. He has a PhD in Economics from McGill, with research centred on the consequences of global equity market fragmentation.

Martina has been involved in the EU ETS regulations since 2009 while working for DC Aviation (formerly known as DaimlerChrysler Aviation) as Fuel Manager where she was asked to take part in the implementation of EU ETS relevant regulations. Ever since the inclusion of aviation in the regulatory framework of EU ETS, Martina has closely collaborated with Business Aviation Associations such as EBAA, GBAA, IBAC and others that led to her appointment to represent IBAC and the global business aviation community at the ICAO GMTF (Global Market Based Measures Task Force Group) Meetings, where a group of global experts designed what is now known as ICAO’s CORSIA (Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation). Between 2010-2019 Martina held the position of Fuel & ETS Manager for the global TAG Aviation group, operating more than 120 aircraft at that time. Since 2022, using her experience and knowledge in this field, Martina has been assisting business aviation operators with their obligatory compliance.

Martina works on the implementation of the ReFuelEU Aviation Regulation and the Flight Emissions Label. She has extensive experience in sustainable aviation, including through previous roles as consultant at EGIS and as Sustainability Manager at the European Regions Airline Association (ERA).

Michael leads the analysis of the Group’s emissions, to inform its 2050 Roadmap, and is responsible for fulfilling IAG's sustainability reporting requirements. Michael has more than 6 years’ experience working on carbon market policy – this includes developing market analysis on the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS); involvement in international negotiations on carbon pricing;  policy development work on establishment of the UK ETS in UK Government; and implementation of the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) in UK legislation. 

Montserrat has led ERA since November 2017, overseeing the association’s strategy and advocacy on policy and technical matters. Under her leadership, ERA champions the vital role of regional aviation in Europe’s economic growth and social cohesion, especially in areas reliant on air connectivity. Before joining ERA, Montserrat was Director of International Development and Industry Affairs at ERA member airline Binter, focusing on regulatory and international matters. She previously led strategy development at Pullmantur Group, which included a cruise line, tour operators, travel agencies and a charter airline.

In her current role, Natalia is building a portfolio of emission reduction and removal projects for Louis Dreyfus Company while supporting the decarbonisation journey of LDC globally. Natalia has 20 years of experience in carbon credits markets, renewable energy and climate consulting, and worked previously at South Pole, RWE Supply & Trading and ICF International. She holds a MSc in Environmental Management from Oxford University and MSc in Management from Bocconi University, Milan.

Nicolas Duchêne has served as President and CEO of Normec Verifavia since 2023, where he implemented a new organisational structure and operational procedures while accommodating rapid growth of more than 10% annually. With over a decade of specialised experience in independent verification, he has contributed to developing innovative audit programmes for emissions, sustainability and low-carbon fuels, including insetting and book & claim methodologies. His leadership focuses on enhancing audit tools, methods and processes to deliver high-quality verification results while driving the company’s mission forward. He holds dual MSc degrees in Industrial Sciences and Sustainable Development, and Water Pollution Control Technology.

Nicolas is a seasoned leader with more than 15 years of expertise in trading, derivatives and commodity markets. He most recently served as Global Head of Sales at BP Low Carbon Trading, where he spearheaded growth across voluntary and compliance carbon markets. Renowned for his ability to structure impactful deals and partnerships, he has consistently delivered value to clients and stakeholders. Previously, Nicolas held senior origination roles at BP and Société Générale, developing innovative risk management and trading strategies.

Airlines for Europe(A4E) is the voice of Europe’s leading airlines in Brussels. Rania joined A4E in June 2023 and is responsible for the association’s strategy and impact. Her role is to represent Europe’s leading airlines in the Brussels political arena, liaise with industry executives and manage the association’s operations. She has 20 years’ experience of advocating for membership associations, previously leading LightingEurope and working as Director of Public Policy for Europe for SEMI and as Senior Policy Coordinator with the Assembly of European Regions in Strasbourg and in Brussels. 

Prasanna has over 15 years of commercial leadership experience in finance, technology and sustainability. Most recently, he served as Commercial Director at Zero Petroleum, a pioneering synthetic fuel company, where he led their capital raising activity and secured commercial partnerships with major global brands such as ADNOC, Rolls-Royce and Toshiba. He is the former Chief Commercial Officer and co-founder of Native Finance, an award-winning VC-backed fintech platform acquired in 2023. Prasanna began his career on the trading floor at Goldman Sachs before moving into global health and impact investing at the Elton John AIDS Foundation, where he launched the world’s first HIV focused Social Impact Bond. He holds Master’s degrees in both Engineering from Oxford and Management from Cambridge, and is a Churchill Fellow and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

The ICAO Finvest Hub is a global initiative accelerating the commercialisation of sustainable aviation fuels with a focus on developing states. Prior to ICAO, he led Global Sustainability for Boeing in Asia-Pacific, was a Fellow at the World Economic Forum, and has contributed to ICAO’s Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection (CAEP) since 2014. Robert spent nearly a decade at the International Air Transport Association (IATA), ultimately as Head of Energy Transition and Policy. He also served four years on the Board of the Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials, including as Treasurer. Holding a Master’s in Economics from the University of Queensland, he began his aviation career as Chief Economist at Virgin Australia after a decade in finance.

Solange is a multi-award winning aerospace engineer and techno-strategist with over 15 years dedicated to Airbus’s sustainable aviation journey. Her career has spanned high-profile R&T projects, including the world’s first in-flight emissions study using 100% SAF, which remains integral to Airbus’s decarbonisation plan. Today, Solange leads the UK environmental strategy for Airbus aircraft in operation, shaping key positions on decarbonisation. Her work now actively encompasses the crucial role of carbon removals, serving as the Airbus representative in the Jet Zero Taskforce for both the Non-CO2 and Greenhouse Gas Removals (GGRs) workstreams. Furthermore, she chairs Sustainable Aviation UK’s Cleaner Working Group, which has been instrumental in formally integrating the critical role of GGRs into the coalition’s net zero roadmap. 

Stefan oversees all fuel procurement activities for both Norwegian and Widerøe. With more than 15 years of experience in procurement and over eight years dedicated to the fuel industry, including five years within aviation, he brings an understanding of fuel markets, supply chain management and sustainability challenges within aviation. Stefan plays a key role in optimising sourcing strategies, ensuring supply resilience and supporting the Group’s broader sustainability goals. 

Steve leads a team supporting Boeing’s customers and partners achieve their sustainability goals across Europe, the Middle East, Türkiye, Africa and Central Asia. Prior to this role, Steve was Boeing’s NATO Director and UK Head of Government Affairs. Steve joined Boeing from Rolls-Royce, and the Ministry of Defence. He is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and chairs the UK Jet Zero Task Force’s SAF Start and Finish Group. In 2024 Steve was appointed an honorary Professor of Sustainable Aerospace at the University of Sheffield and was an Industry Associate Member of the Royal College of Defence Studies for Global Strategy Programme 25. Steve has lived and worked in Belgium, India, the USA and China.

Steven is responsible for leading Ryanair's sustainability strategy including managing the progress and pathway towards environmental goals, ensuring compliance with carbon market regulations, environmental reporting and stakeholder engagement. Steven is a qualified accountant by trade and also responsible for monitoring the use and procurement of jet fuel, including sustainable aviation fuel for the Group. Before joining Ryanair, Steven worked in banking for 14 years.

Tom joined Howden in 2019, and has worked across M&A insurance, financial lines and climate insurance. He is fully ACII qualified. Since 2021 Tom has developed insurance products that have helped to secure the value of carbon credits and enabled investments into the energy transition space. The first policies placed were in the California cap and trade market, and he has since structured policies for projects based in the US, Ghana, South America and Southeast Asia, and for buyers and investors based in the EU, Singapore and the US. Over the past 15 months, Tom has been the lead broker at Howden advising both Gold Standard and Verra on appropriate insurance policies for use in the CORSIA programme.

Thomas has investment experience of more than 27 years and invests in energy transition related projects/companies such as green hydrogen. In parallel, Thomas acts as Managing Director for Power-to-X GmbH, the PtX Development Fund. Previously, he was Global Head of Transaction and Investment Management, Infrastructure Equity, at Allianz Global Investors GmbH. Between 2008 and 2013, he worked for KGAL as Senior Director in the Renewable Energies and Infrastructure department, helping to build up the Renewable Energies portfolio. Thomas gained his in-depth industry experience through various global senior management positions at Siemens AG and Siemens Financial Services (SFS). Positions in corporate M&A, as commercial director of industrial power plants and as senior investment director show his significant know-how in technology-driven sustainable impact investments.

Tim has been involved in carbon markets and emissions trading for 20 years and has worked on many carbon markets including the EU ETS from its inception in 2005, the UK ETS which began in 2021 as well as project-based mechanisms under the Kyoto Protocol and Voluntary Markets. Since joining CFP Energy 5 years ago, he has focused on carbon compliance markets, working with UK and EU ETS operators from the industrial, aviation and shipping sectors to help them manage compliance, develop a strategy to manage future price risks and execute trades in an increasingly volatile market.

Tim is Director of the Aviation Environment Federation (AEF), a UK-based NGO campaigning on aviation’s impacts for people and the environment. He is a lead representative for the International Coalition for Sustainable Aviation which represents civil society organisations at the International Civil Aviation Organization, specifically ICAO’s Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection. Tim co-led CAEP’s expert group responsible for drafting CORSIA’s emission unit eligibility criteria and continues to lead the support group for ICAO’s aviation emissions calculator. In the UK he sits on the Department for Transport’s Jet Zero Taskforce.

Tom leads the company’s regulatory strategy in Europe, working closely with policymakers and industry stakeholders to advance SAF policy frameworks and de-risk investment across the value chain. Tom also oversees SkyNRG’s thought leadership activities and is a lead author of the company’s SAF Market Outlooks, a key reference on the state and trends of the SAF sector. He holds an MSc in Sustainable Development from Utrecht University and a BSc in Earth Sciences and Economics from VU Amsterdam. Before joining SkyNRG, Tom worked as a management consultant at Guidehouse, advising public and private sector clients on climate policy and decarbonisation strategies.

As Policy Manager at IETA, the carbon market industry association with more than 300 members, Will spearhead’s IETA’s work on aviation and leads their Aviation Working Group. In this role, he tracks the evolution of aviation carbon pricing around the globe on behalf of members and coordinates IETA’s engagement with policymakers, helping to raise the voice of business in aviation carbon policy discussions at ICAO, in the EU and in national capitals around the world. Based in London, he holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs.
